I just sent these off to the printer. Hopefully they’ve arrive in time for ECCC where I’ll be handing them out for free to potential new readers. I’m at a weird transitional period where all of my promotional material and all of my merch reflects my older pop culture comics and NOTHING on my table is going to accurately portray the comics I’m currently making. Hence the new banner and these bookmarks.
I got some feedback from the Fancy Bastards and decided these two comics did a pretty good job of introducing the premise and the sense of humor of the current incarnation of HE.
The bookmarks are only 2”x6” so I had to redo the speech to actually be legible. I removed some of the dialog, made all the font bigger and redrew some of the speech bubbles. I completely stole David Willis’s bookmark design and I think they turned out decent.
FINAL FINAL FINAL FOR SERIOUS THIS TIME NEW CONVENTION BANNER!
Didn’t like the blank space above Denise, so I redrew her. I think the whole thing is really balanced now and I’m super happy with it. I really hope this makes it to Seattle and it standing behind me at booth #1412 at Emerald City Comicon.
SEATTLE FANCY BASTARDS! Emerald City Comicon is next week!
ECCC is my absolute favorite convention of the year, and it is SHOCKINGLY close to happening nowish. David and I will be at booth #1412 right next to Cyanide & Happiness! I will have the leftover DDDT prints, other prints, books, shirts, Wil Wheaton plushies and sketches. I’ll be doing TWO PANELS:
"The Cyanide and Happiness Group Sketch Jam Panel" / Friday, March 28, 6:10pm, Hall B, (Rooms 608-609)
"The Experiment: Making a Living Doing What you Love" / Saturday, March 29, 6:00pm, ROOM 3AB. THIS is the one I REEEEEEALLY need you to show up for. My first ever totally SOLO panel.
More panel info HERE. Seattle always takes AMAZING care of me, but for the uninitiated, offerings in the forms of tasty treats (cookies, cakes, Cadburry Creme Eggs, Starbucks Doubleshots [the tiny cans, NOT the energy drinks]) and tasty booze (DELICIOUS BOOZE) are always accepted and appreciated. Tiny booze bottles will have their contents slipped stealthily into my drinks at restaurants, while larger bottles will have to contents shared with my cartoonist friends in various hotels rooms in your fair city.
They lost our registration and they were sold out of tables and so that’s why Joel and I aren’t not going.
Nobody else seemed to do very well and so they didn’t plan to return.
And from what I’ve heard the are expecting to sell about 90% of their booths and tables to existing exhibitors on the last day of the con, plus they have a 300+ person waitlist. Seems like missing one year means we might not ever get back in.
That unlocks TWO HijiNKS Hangouts a months (a public Google Hangout where I chat with awesome content creators and YOU about comics, making, etc. Plus we’ll answer your questions and do some live drawing from time to time.
As a thank you for reaching this milestone, here’s A Uke Cover of “Let It Go.”
